Dave Christianson
Baseball Director

 

     Dave played at John F. Kennedy High School in Chicago, Illinois. He was a Pitcher, 1st Baseman, and Outfielder and was selected 1st Team All District, All City, and All State. He was one of the most highly recruited high school baseball players in Illinois. He received 20+ Division 1 Baseball Full Scholarship offers before he was drafted in the 4th round and signed by the San Diego Padres in the 1980 June draft.
     He played 3 seasons within the San Diego Padres minor league system before being traded to the Detroit Tigers in 1983. He retired in 1984 and came back to live in Salem with wife Pam. They have two sons David and Jared. He is now a Sales Manager with the Shelor Motor Mile in Christiansburg. He has been  coaching and training players for 20+ years and opened The Rip City Baseball Training Center in 1997.

 

Ron Reynolds
Softball Director
     Ron played Fast-Pitch Softball up and down the East Coast for 20+ years before settling into coaching.    He coached the Virginia Tech Lady Hokies Fast-Pitch Softball team at Virginia Tech from 1990-1994 and also coached at Salem High School from 1995-1997 and again in 2008 where he was River Ridge District Coach of the Year.
      Ron has been The Girls Fast-Pitch Softball Director at Rip City since it opened in 1997. His 25+ years experience playing and coaching, Ron is one of the Top Fast-Pitch Softball instructors nationwide and has been instrumental in helping many young ladies realize their full potential going into college softball.

 

Matthew Otey
Strength and Conditioning
     Matt is a 2007 graduate of the College of William and Mary where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Kinesiology as well as completing a 5 year career as a fullback for the Tribe. He is very excited to have the opportunity to work with Rip city’s athletes to help them be the best they can be.

 

Tammy Duncan
Massage Therapy
Tammy attended the Blue Ridge School of Massage and Yoga in Blacksburg, Va. She is nationally certified in Therapeutic Massage and Body work and is registered with the Virginia State board of Nursing. She is excited to offer sports massage as well as various other massage therapies.
